Terms and Conditions

Lessons:

Lessons are held once a week during the school term at a time that suits you. You can choose between 20 or 30 minute lessons. Longer lessons and holiday lessons are available upon request, so please feel free to ask. Adult students may also continue lessons during school holidays if this is more convenient.

Enrolments:

Enrolment can be done at any time using the enrolment form available here. Lessons can begin at any time, even in the middle of a term. However, once you enrol, your lesson slot will be reserved exclusively for you, and you will be on my lesson list for the remainder of the current year unless you inform me otherwise. Please see Cancellation and Refund Policy below for stopping lessons.

Accounts:

Invoices for the term will be issued at the start of each term  and payment details will be included on the invoices. Payments  can be paid  in one lot or in two half-term lots, at your discretion. If alternative arrangements are needed, please discuss them with me. Payments are due at the start of each term or half-term.

For adult students who are not following the school term schedule, payments can be made in 5 or 10 week blocks.

If the full term payment is not made by the end of the school term (i.e., by the last Friday of the term) it becomes overdue and a late fee of $5 will apply. Your invoice will be reissued. If payments are significantly delayed, you may be subject to debt collection.

A general account is sent out at the start of each term. Reminders will be sent during the term.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

If you wish to discontinue lessons, it is essential that you inform me before the next term begins and before the next invoice is issued. If notice is not given before the new term starts, a cancellation fee equivalent to one lesson will be charged to cover the reserved lesson time.

Once a term or half-term has begun, tuition is non-refundable, as your lesson space, preparation time, and resources have been allocated for the full period.

In exceptional circumstances — such as serious illness or relocation — please contact me to discuss possible options.

Lesson spaces automatically roll over from term to term, so please ensure you cancel at the end of a term if you do not wish to continue into the next one.

Reschedule Policy:

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to appointments, holidays, sickness, or any other reason, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. This allows time to adjust schedules and, if applicable, rearrange school timetables.

When sufficient notice is given, we can look at arranging an alternative lesson time either within the current term or during the school holidays, depending on availability. Please note that rescheduled lessons are subject to my availability and may not always be possible immediately.

.

Missed Lesson Policy:

If you contact me within 24 hours of your lesson time, the lesson will need to be paid for, as the time is reserved exclusively for you or your child.

However, if you notify me before 2:00 PM (for home lessons) or 8:00 AM (for school lessons) on the day of your lesson, you may choose one of the following options. Please advise which option you prefer when notifying me of the absence:

1.  Zoom lessons:

If you’re feeling mildly sick or cannot make it to an in-person lesson, we can have the lesson via Zoom at the regular lesson time.

For school lessons, an after-school Zoom session can be arranged within 2 days, subject to availability. Meeting details will be sent at the time.

2. Work for Review:

You may send me an audio or video recording of your current work (pieces, scales, technical exercises, compositions, etc.).
If needed, please include a photo of your music so I can follow along.
I will then review it and provide feedback.

Work for review must be submitted within 2 weeks of the missed lesson.

Late Notice:

If you notify me after 2:00 PM (for home lessons) or 8:00 AM (for school lessons) on the day of the lesson, this will be considered late notice, and missed lesson options or rescheduling will not be available.

Teacher Absences

If I need to cancel a lesson for any reason, the lesson will be rescheduled to another time that week, or to a suitable time during the term or school holidays.
